By way of reminder, you will no longer create Quizlet sets (unless you want to). I'll create them and share them with you in Google Classroom. You still have to write the vocab in your copybooks though. You get 20 points for that. Also, when you study Quizlet set via Google Classroom you'll get credit for that as well. 9/11/18: Welcome back, everyone! It's so good to see your wonderful faces in the hallways again. A warm welcome to all new students to our school. We're so happy to have you.
There are changes to our Spanish program this year. I've seen all you now and we've discussed the changes. We've gone from meeting three days a week to twice a week, and our grade scale has changed, but I promise that lots of learning will be taking place in all middle-school Spanish classes.
A few essentials: please bring last year's copybook with you to every class. If you misplaced your copybook, I suggest you print the vocab from Quizlet or from the digital edition of the book online. Once you've done that you can paste or staple the vocab into your new copybook. Be sure to create the sections you need as well. You'll have to put in the prayers etc.
Always bring your workbook as well, and several pencils and/or erasable pens. No permanent pens in the workbooks, please.
Tests and homework in Spanish will continue to be part of your life at SPN. Check here weekly for updates. We'll continue to use Quizlet too. If you're new to the school, we'll set you up with a Quizlet account. It's a great way to study Spanish, and it's lots of fun too!
We'll have a review verb quiz on Wednesday, September 19th for both classes. If you're new to the school, no worries. You won't be required to take it.
Looking forward to a productive year with all of you.
5/11/18: Update again. The test on 5b is next week on 5/16 for 71 and 5/17 for 72. This vocab list can be confusing so I wanted to give everyone more time to study. Also, if you want to retake the adjective/comparison quiz, you must get your original signed and then return it to me. Once you've done that you can retake the quiz.
4/27/18: Update info for test and quiz: the test is on vocab for 5b and not 6a. There's an adjective test on the 18 adjectives used to make comparisons in unit 6a on 5/9 and 5/10. The vocab test is scheduled for 5/3 and 5/4. Sorry for the confusion.

A number of students continue to come to class without their text or workbook or copybook. We have a change in policy this year: if you're not a new student this year, you're not allowed to return to your homeroom to get the material any longer. Having your text, workbook and copybook with you during class is essential for your success. Please pair with someone who can remind you to bring Spanish books with you the days you have Spanish.
9/21/17: Assessments start next week. Make sure to bring your text, workbook and copybook with you to class. You'll need them for the assessments. Be sure to use Quizlet a bit everyday before the big vocab test.

Your textbook must be covered with a book sock. Your workbook may be covered with plastic but it's not required. You'll use the same workbook in the 8th grade so if you think it will help keep the cover protected, please do it.
Bring your old copybook to class along with a new copybook. We're going to set up the copybooks over the next few classes.
Please bring a set of earbuds or earphones. We use Chromebooks and iPads a lot in Spanish and listening activities are a large part of the exercises.
